The Education:
I am a graduate of electronics engineering with one year of mechanical engineering; I had worked for Codex Corporation that was bought by Motorola years ago. I was the R & D technician that interfaced new products into the production environment troubleshooting down to chip level. Ex. 6010 multiplexer cost $25,000; know known as a router cost now $99.00. Also 9600 baud modems cost $10,000, now $9.00 or free with rebate.
The Satellite Experience:
For many years I had tinkered with satellite reception, especially when visiting my cousin’s beach house in Malibu California, she had a 16 ft. paraclips dish and a 12 ft. in Hidden Hills. The last 7 years I had dived into its reception with great absorption of the hobby. This turnaround was due to the fact that when my son was getting older, around 5 years old , Barney on PBS was not cutting it for him any more. After researching my options and while some European channels was FTA on S4 I had installed my BUD "Big useful dish ".
