The true focal depth is 19.5 inches not 21.5 inches

With the mounting pipe perfectly vertical and setting the gauge to 20.5 degrees to tune NSS7 it was impossible to tune it. The elevation gauge on the mount is 1.5 degrees in error. I have found this error on all 15 dishes that I had tuned. So to tune a satellite quickly using the dish gauge , subtract 1.5 degrees of the satellite elevation that you want. This gauge offset has been apparent since the 3-3-2003 production dates from Winegard. I had never use the stamped gauge before until people having problems tuning. I have all ways used and continue to use a anglefinder ( protractor ) that make tuning a dish in 15 seconds on any satellite. I will show you how easy on the next page. |
