Did you ever want to set up a big dish but you did not want to get involved with a Cband/Ku complete system, servos, and actuators ? You can start searching the skies with your regular MPEG-2 DVB receiver. Using the ITBUSA Cband LNBF C851 you can use it on any Cband dish by just pointing to the satellite you need, adjust the FD ratio / skew on the feedhorn and start bringing in a vast array of Cband channels. After talking with ITBUSA I informed them that there was no dielectric plate to receive circular signals. ITBUSA was very responsive to the missing part but it was not there fault since the manufacturer just did not include it in the packaging. What the dielectric plate does is separate the circular signal so that the horizontal & vertical probes inside the feedhorn can pick up the signal to send it up to the receiver. With Circular signals there is no skewing of the lnb just like Dishnetwork & Directv although they are in the Ku band.

So where's the Circular channels ? Well if you want the Bolivan, Nigerian mux on NSS7, or a bunch of Spanish channels on NSS806 then you do need a Cband feedhorn that can translate circular to H/V.

ITBUSA has informed me that they do have dielectric plates coming in to add to the package. Its nice to see a distributor be so responsive to what some of us satellite gurus in the field need. Although you can make your own plate but to find some quarter inch fiberglass or Teflon to make one can be a hassle if not ready available. One other thing that was missing but not really was an extra bolt. The unit comes with 4 bolts but many dishes especially overseas have a 3 strut system which makes it work out ok 3 for the struts and 1 for the feedhorn but many USA made Cband dishes have 4 struts so you will have to make a trip to the local Home Depot Just make sure you take the scaler ring with you to size up the threads.
