| Winegard 1 meter DS-3100 DS-3101 using a SG2100 Dish Mover | |
I wanted to attempt to get my Wingard 1 meter mounted on a SG2100 mover. The 1 meter has a different type of mount that is different than all the rest. I was going to cut off the round part that clamps on the pole but seeing that I had enough clearance not hitting the F connectors I thought I would leave it in cans I wanted to put it back on a pole or universal mount. Some people said that the Winegard 1 meter was too big for the SG2100 but reviewing the specification of the sg2100 it is rated for a 1.2 meter dish and 24 lbs. So that told me that a 1.2 meter dish can generate more wind stress on the mover than the 1 meter and with the Wingard 1 meter weighing in 3 lbs less is even better
1st thing I did was draw a center line between both of the original holes. Next mark the first drill hole 1.25 inches from the center of left original hole and then 2.5 inches from the center of the first hole. I did this on both sides of the mover arm.
Next I got a hammer & a punch or a nail to indent the x mark as to not let the drill drift off the center mark because this has to be precise. I did not have a drill press handy so I had to do it by hand. Using a small drill bit I made a pilot hole for the larger bit that precisely matches the exact diameter of the bolts supplied by Winegard.
I next drilled 4 - 5/16 holes (2 each side)
